A Costco Nike sneaker release has quickly drawn attention after a limited-edition shoe sold at Costco surged in value on the resale market within days.
According to a report by Fox News, Costco revealed the collaborative sneaker on January 30. The sudden release prompted an immediate reaction from in-store shoppers and the sneaker resale market.
The product is the Nike SB Dunk Low, which features the Kirkland logo, Costcoโs private-label brand, incorporated into its design. The sneaker was inspired by Kirkland Signature sweatshirts and uses black, gray, and white tones commonly associated with Costcoโs in-house branding.
The shoes were released at a retail price of $134.99 in select areas, including California, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
Within three days of the release, resale prices rose by more than 200%. On resale platforms such as StockX, eBay, and GOAT, listings ranged from approximately $400 to as high as $1,000.
Costco did not disclose which stores carried the sneakers. The product was also not listed on Costcoโs official website, leaving purchasing options limited and further concentrating attention on the release.
