SBA Launches $50 Million Grant Program for Small Manufacturers
Up to 10 Organizations Eligible for $5 Million Awards

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced a new $50 million grant initiative aimed at strengthening America’s manufacturing sector and supporting small businesses across key industrial industries.

The SBA said the program, called the “Manufacturing in America Empower to Grow (E2G) Grant Initiative,” will provide funding to up to 10 eligible organizations that will offer training and technical assistance to small manufacturers nationwide.

Selected organizations could receive as much as $5 million each to support regional manufacturing education, workforce development and operational assistance programs.

Kelly Loeffler, administrator of the SBA, said the initiative is part of a broader effort to rebuild domestic manufacturing capacity and strengthen U.S. supply chains.

“America’s reindustrialization is accelerating under President Trump’s leadership, and small manufacturers are playing a critical role in restoring American industrial strength,” Loeffler said in a statement. “This initiative will help expand domestic production, support reshoring efforts and create jobs across the country.”

The E2G program provides free business courses, hands-on training and one-on-one consulting services to small businesses. Industries eligible for support include aerospace, shipbuilding, rail equipment, mining, industrial machinery, construction equipment, metal fabrication, electrical equipment, food processing, medical and precision manufacturing, advanced manufacturing and robotics.

To qualify for the grants, applicants must:

  • Be a for-profit or nonprofit organization
  • Have operated continuously for at least three years
  • Demonstrate experience providing technical assistance or training to small manufacturers
  • Show the capacity to deliver hands-on manufacturing-related education and consulting

Applications must be submitted through Grants.gov by June 15 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

The SBA will also host informational webinars for applicants on May 11, May 27 and June 3.

The new grant initiative is the latest in a series of manufacturing-focused programs introduced by the SBA. Earlier this year, the agency launched a 90% “Made in America” loan guarantee program for manufacturers and waived loan fees for manufacturing businesses under qualifying NAICS industry codes during fiscal year 2026.

The SBA also created a dedicated loan program for American manufacturers and launched the “Make Onshoring Great Again” portal, which connects businesses with domestic suppliers and producers.

According to the SBA, small businesses account for approximately 98% of all manufacturers in the United States.
