Doomscrolling Just Got An Upgrade: Netflix Clips Korea Launch Brings TikTok Vibes and K-Pop Games

If you’ve ever spent more time scrolling through the Netflix menu than actually watching a show, the streaming giant has a solution that might just turn your indecision into pure entertainment. Get ready to swap your usual social media doomscrolling for something a bit more cinematic, because the new Netflix Clips Korea feature is officially on its way to shake up your mobile screen.

Netflix announced that it is bringing a major mobile overhaul to the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region this summer. Starting this July, users in South Korea and Japan will experience a completely redesigned mobile homepage, featuring enhanced navigation and a brand-new vertical short-form video feed aptly named “Clips.”

TikTok, But Make It Netflix

So, what exactly is this new feature? Think of it as Netflix’s answer to TikTok or Instagram Reels, but entirely dedicated to helping you discover your next binge-watch. Elizabeth Stone, Netflix’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, explained during an APAC media event that the feature is tailor-made for mobile-first audiences.

The Netflix Clips Korea rollout follows successful trials in countries like India, Australia, and New Zealand, where users have already been previewing shows through bite-sized, vertically aligned snippets. Instead of reading boring text descriptions, you can now swipe through high-octane action scenes, romantic K-drama eye-contact, or stand-up comedy punchlines until something catches your eye. It’s fast, it’s addictive, and it’s coming straight to your phone.

Turning the Screen Into a Playground with ‘KPop Demon Hunters’

But the tech giant isn’t stopping at just short-form video. Netflix is also stepping up its gaming empire, which has quietly grown to over 100 mobile titles since its inception in 2021. To celebrate the first anniversary of the hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters (2025), a fresh batch of kid-friendly mini-games will drop on June 20.

These exclusive games will live inside “Netflix Playground,” a standalone mobile app designed for children aged 8 and under. “We are really focused on expanding Playground,” said Lisa Burgess, General Manager at Netflix Games, teasing that they aim to have 25 different intellectual property (IP)-based gaming experiences by the end of the year. If your kids—or let’s be honest, you—are fans of Mira, Rumi, and Zoey, your mobile gaming routine is about to get a serious Hallyu upgrade.

Whether you’re looking to swipe through the funniest show highlights with the new Netflix Clips Korea feed or hunt monsters with animated K-pop stars, Netflix is making sure you never leave their app.
