Koreatown Parking Tickets Top LA’s Most Ticketed Intersections
Koreatown Parking Tickets reached the highest levels in Los Angeles at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Irolo Street, making it the city’s most heavily ticketed location so far this year, according to the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT).

LADOT data shows that 2,595 parking citations were issued at the Wilshire Boulevard and Irolo Street intersection through June 12, generating more than $760,000 in fines. Most of those citations were issued through an AI-powered camera enforcement system targeting vehicles that illegally stop or park in dedicated bus lanes.
Koreatown Parking Tickets Dominate LA’s Top Enforcement Locations
Four intersections in Koreatown ranked among the 10 most ticketed locations across Los Angeles this year.
They include:
- Wilshire Boulevard & Irolo Street โ 2,595 citations
- Wilshire Boulevard & Shatto Place โ 2,170 citations
- Wilshire Boulevard & Kenmore Avenue โ 1,755 citations
- Wilshire Boulevard & Vermont Avenue โ 1,605 citations
The concentration of citations highlights Koreatown as one of the city’s busiest enforcement zones, particularly along the Wilshire Boulevard transit corridor.
AI Bus Lane Cameras Drive Citation Surge
Local outlet LA Local reported that parking and bus lane violation tickets increased sharply after camera-based enforcement was introduced on Metro’s 720 Rapid and 212 bus routes along Wilshire Boulevard.
Drivers caught parking or driving in designated bus-only lanes face a $293 fine under the city’s enforcement program.
Parking Enforcement Intensifies in Koreatown
Parking enforcement has increased significantly in Koreatown in recent years.
Since 2023, the number of parking tickets issued in the neighborhood has risen 37%, far exceeding the 7.2% citywide average increase during the same period.
Drivers in Koreatown have paid approximately $7 million in parking fines so far this year. Bus lane violations accounted for the largest share, with roughly 15,000 citations resulting in more than $4 million in penalties.
The average parking fine in Koreatown reached $160.57 per citation, substantially higher than the Los Angeles citywide average of $89.70, reflecting the area’s heavy concentration of higher-penalty bus lane enforcement.
