BTS New York MetLife Stadium Concert: 157,000 Fans Gather as BTS Rocks New York

Global superstars BTS have once again proved their status as top-tier global artists by turning the New York area into a vibrant purple and red celebration.

On August 1 and 2 (local time), BTS successfully kicked off the second North American leg of their BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The historic two-night event came just two weeks after the group co-headlined the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ final halftime show at the exact same venue on July 19.

This marks BTS’s return to MetLife Stadium for the first time in 7 years and 2 months since their LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF tour in May 2019.

Throughout the concert, local and international fans sang along to every Korean lyric with booming voices. A massive sing-along erupted during their 5th studio album title track “SWIM” and the Korean folk song “Arirang,” uniting the crowd in an emotional wave.

Legendary Hip-Hop Icon Nas Attends; RM Expresses Gratitude

The BTS New York MetLife Stadium Concert also drew major international media attention, with nearly 30 South Korean and American media outlets attending.

Notably, hip-hop legend Nas was spotted in the crowd enjoying the concert. During the show, BTS leader RM expressed his deep emotion upon seeing his childhood hero:

“Performing in front of my teenage idol feels absolutely incredible,” RM shared on stage with a beaming smile.

To complement the concert, the BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – NEW YORK urban project transformed major New York landmarks:

  • Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center): Wrapped in BTS’s new album logo, playing BTS music, and serving themed menu items.

  • Grand Central Terminal: Hosted a DIY T-shirt creation workshop, drawing thousands of daily commuters and international fans.

Following the monumental success of the BTS New York MetLife Stadium Concert, BTS will continue their tour on August 5 and 6 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

BTS will set another historic record by becoming the first Korean artist in history to hold a solo concert at Gillette Stadium.
