New Student Perks Program Offers Unlimited Data and Exclusive Member Benefits
T-Mobile has introduced a new lineup of discounted wireless plans designed specifically for college students as the back-to-school season begins.
The company’s new Student Perks program features three unlimited plans starting at $30 per month. In addition to unlimited data, the plans include a variety of entertainment and membership benefits aimed at helping students reduce their monthly wireless costs.
The three plans—Essentials Saver, Experience More, and Experience Beyond—offer different levels of service and perks. T-Mobile said customers with three lines can save up to 20% compared with similar plans offered by competing wireless carriers.
Subscribers also receive several additional benefits. These include Scam Shield, which helps block spam and fraudulent calls, and Magenta Status, T-Mobile’s rewards program that offers 15% off Hilton hotel stays, $5 movie tickets every Tuesday, streaming discounts, selected rental car discounts, and a free one-year AAA membership.
Customers can generally keep their existing smartphones and phone numbers when switching to T-Mobile. The company said enrollment can be completed quickly online, through customer service, or at T-Mobile retail stores.
