Group TWS delivered big laughs to fans by unveiling a chaotic and unpredictable roommate relationship chart.
On the 25th, TWS (Shedhyun, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin) released the ‘Transfer Roommate’ episode of their official YouTube self-produced variety show ‘TWS:CLUB’. This episode cleverly parodied a popular dating reality show, adopting the concept where members, who actually share a dorm room, become each other’s ‘EX (former roommate)’ and set out to find a new roommate.
Behind-the-scenes stories from actual dorm life, along with the members’ personalities and living habits, were framed in the sentimental and affectionate tone typical of dating shows, stimulating viewers’ dopamine. The contrasting feelings between members eager to find a new roommate and those still holding lingering attachments to their ‘EX’ created a strange tension and burst of laughter.
In particular, intense inner feelings were revealed right from the ‘EX Introduction’ segment. Shinyu expressed his honest feelings by saying, “I wish my EX would only look at me,” while Youngjae actively set out to find a new connection. Dohoon, who had coolly said goodbye, found his heart wavering the moment he saw Jihoon, and Hanjin also showed signs of being swayed by Kyungmin’s remark, “I hope my EX chooses me again.”
Unexpected pairings also emerged in the following random dates. Jihoon and Kyungmin, who went on a swimming pool date, heated up the atmosphere with a direct statement, “I’m more curious about Kyungmin than Kyungmin’s ‘EX.'” Meanwhile, Dohoon and Youngjae grew closer by sharing small preferences in the attic. On the other hand, Shinyu and Hanjin confirmed each other’s lingering attachments at a karaoke room and formed an alliance to reunite, turning the set into a sea of laughter. The next episode has heightened expectations by previewing members directly asking each other out on dates.
Meanwhile, TWS set a personal best record by selling 225,853 copies in the first week with their 2nd Japanese single ‘SODA SODA’, released on the 4th. The title track ‘SODA SODA’ became the first K-pop song this year to top Billboard Japan’s comprehensive song chart, ‘Japan Hot 100’.
Continuing their global trend, TWS is set to connect with local fans through their solo concert ‘2026 TWS TOUR ’24/7:FOR:YOU’ IN JAPAN’, kicking off in Fukuoka from August 28-30, followed by Hyogo from September 4-6, and Kanagawa from September 12-13.
