Hyundai Glovis is stepping up to support the global export of K-Culture products, including K-Pop merchandise and K-Beauty items, through its air-forwarding services. Air forwarding is a logistics brokerage service that arranges or handles air cargo transportation.

On the 27th, Hyundai Glovis announced that it has secured contracts to transport cosmetics from APR to Los Angeles, London, and Amsterdam, as well as albums from SM Entertainment to Chicago by air. The company stated, ‘As a forwarder, we take full charge of the entire transport process, including packaging, customs clearance, shipping, and arrival.’ They added that air transport offers advantages such as fast delivery and easy management of transport environments like temperature and humidity.

Cosmetics require shock absorption to prevent leaks or breakage during transit, and often demand dangerous goods packaging standards, such as the use of safe containers. Meeting the standards of the importing country is also crucial. Similarly, albums require careful loading during inland and air transit due to the risk of damage. For newly released albums, maintaining strict security to prevent content leaks during transit is equally important.

Beyond consumer goods, Hyundai Glovis has also successfully handled high-value art logistics. Last month, the company safely transported artworks by British contemporary artist Damien Hirst back to London after their exhibition concluded at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul.

Viewing the expansion of global e-commerce as a driver for continuous growth in the air-forwarding market, Hyundai Glovis plans to further expand its related business. The company has steadily built its competitiveness in air logistics, notably investing 200.6 billion KRW in 2024 into a fund for Air Zeta’s (formerly Air Incheon) acquisition of Asiana Airlines’ cargo business division.

A representative from Hyundai Glovis stated, ‘We plan to expand our air forwarding business based on beauty and content volumes representing K-Culture, as well as high-value-added consumer goods. To achieve this, we will further strengthen our business capabilities using our own air logistics infrastructure, the Incheon International Airport Logistics Center.’
