aT Expands Market Presence in North America with K-Fermented and Convenience Foods

– Participation in ‘Taste of Korea 2026,’ Gathering Over 300 Asian Food Buyers in the U.S. –

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. (aT) Los Angeles branch announced on August 22nd that it participated in ‘Taste of Korea 2026,’ a product sourcing consultation event held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, targeting key buyers from JFC International, North America’s largest Asian food distribution network.

Β Since its establishment in 1958, JFC International has been a global food distribution company with a robust network supplying over 15,000 food products to supermarkets and restaurants across North America. This event, in particular, demonstrated the high popularity of K-Food, with over 300 attendees including key local distributors and buyers.

Β aT is promoting the ‘Global NEXT K-Food Project’ to foster promising export items by region. In the North American market, it has set fermented foods and convenience foods as flagship items, reflecting local trends, and is providing intensive support to a total of 11 selected companies.

Β Prior to this consultation event, the aT Los Angeles branch conducted 1:1 online consulting for participating companies to help them enter the North American market, and verified product competitiveness in advance through two sample tasting events attended by JFC’s key category managers.

Β A senior buyer from a large distributor who attended the event expressed satisfaction, stating, “Korean convenience foods are products that can be expected to provide not only convenience but also health,” and added, “We are planning a dedicated Korean food category in our stores, and all the participating products are unique and of high quality, so I want to carry as many of them as possible.”

Β aT plans to conduct multidimensional marketing so that this success in gaining store entry can lead to consumer purchases through online channels beyond offline stores. The plan is to foster K-fermented and convenience foods as new export mainstays in the North American market through intensive promotion until the end of the year, including the creation of SNS promotional content using local influencers, the operation of experience groups, and online mall promotions.
