Popular South Korean internet broadcaster Gwajup Seyeon has directly addressed and denied recent allegations involving illegal drug use during a live broadcast. Addressing her viewers, she explained the circumstances that led to a police investigation involving sleeping pills prescribed to her fellow streamer and boyfriend, known as BJ Kay.
Details of the Police Investigation in South Korea
According to authorities in South Korea, Gwajup Seyeon and Kay were booked without detention under suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act. The investigation focuses on allegations that Kay obtained prescription sleeping pills through a third party, which were subsequently shared with Gwajup Seyeon. During her broadcast, Gwajup Seyeon clarified that she cooperated fully with the investigation, submitting 100 strands of hair for testing before changing her hairstyle, and firmly stated that she has never used illegal drugs or engaged in proxy prescriptions.
