Shuhua Happily Ever After Movie Debut at Busan International Film Festival

Shuhua Happily Ever After marks an exciting milestone as the (G)I-DLE star steps onto the red carpet for her first-ever leading film role, expanding her global K-pop success into the cinematic world.

Her debut feature film, Happily Ever After, has been officially invited to the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ section at the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), running from October 6 to 15, 2026. This marks the film’s Asian premiere, introducing it to audiences in South Korea.

A-List Film Festival Recognition and Plot Details

Following selections at major global film events including the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, this A-list festival recognition cements Shuhua’s growing status as a serious actress. Expressing her excitement, Shuhua shared how surreal it feels to be part of such massive international festivals.

Directed by acclaimed Golden Horse Award-winning filmmaker Fiona Roan, Happily Ever After follows the everyday disruptions that occur when a stray cat enters the lives of two polar-opposite sisters. Shuhua delivers a deeply dimensional performance as Lin Zachi, the carefree youngest sibling in the family.

Following its festival run, Happily Ever After is officially scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027.
