Southern California Principal Arrested in Costa Mesa
Southern California Principal Arrested has sent shockwaves through the local school community after a 45-year-old middle school administrator was taken into custody for allegedly attempting to meet a minor for illicit purposes. According to the Orange County Register, Jason Kaylor of Rancho Cucamonga was arrested by police on August 17 in the 3200 block of Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa.
Investigation and School District Response
Kaylor serves as the principal of Vineyard STEAM Academy in Ontario, a school operating under the Ontario-Monclair School District that serves students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. Law enforcement initiated the investigation after receiving a tip regarding the suspect’s alleged attempt to meet a minor. Ontario-Monclair School District Superintendent James Hammond acknowledged the arrest in a statement, noting that the Costa Mesa Police Department is actively investigating the matter. Hammond added that due to district policy regarding confidential personnel matters, no further comments would be provided at this time. Prior to his tenure at Vineyard STEAM Academy, Kaylor previously served as the principal of Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga.
Current Legal Status
As of the latest updates, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office has not formally filed criminal charges against Kaylor. The investigation remains active and ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence.
