South LA shootings occurred in rapid succession within just one hour, leaving two men injured and local residents deeply concerned about neighborhood safety.
Details of the LAPD Investigation
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the first incident took place at approximately 9:56 p.m. on the 9th near 8th Street and Vermont Avenue. A 35-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Authorities noted that two suspects, a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old male, fled the scene, with investigators suspecting gang-related motives.
Earlier Incident on Grand Avenue
A separate shooting occurred earlier that evening at around 9:14 p.m. near 42nd Street and Grand Avenue. A 24-year-old man was shot and taken to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition. No suspect information has been released for this location. Police are currently investigating whether the two violent encounters are connected.
