Experience Free Stargazing at the Iconic Observatory
The Griffith Observatory Public Star Party returns this weekend, offering visitors a completely free opportunity to explore the night sky in Los Angeles.
Scheduled for this coming Saturday, the popular event will take place on the front lawn of the observatory from 2:00 PM to 9:45 PM. Dozens of telescopes will be set up on-site, allowing attendees to get close-up views of the sun, the moon, and various planets. Please note that personal telescopes without prior authorization are not permitted on the observatory grounds.

Volunteer astronomers from organizations including the Los Angeles Astronomical Society, the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers, and The Planetary Society will be present to guide visitors and enhance the stargazing experience.
Because lines for the telescopes can become quite long, officials recommend arriving early. To ensure all viewing procedures wrap up by 9:45 PM, the telescope lines may close earlier than the official event end time. Meanwhile, the main observatory building will maintain its regular schedule and remain open until 10:00 PM.
