Global K-pop powerhouse BTS has officially added another major nomination to their belt, scoring a nod for ‘Best Group’ at the upcoming 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). Announced on September 18 (local time), this latest recognition brings the South Korea group’s total nominations for the ceremony to three.
Previously, BTS was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best K-Pop’ with ‘SWIM’, the title track of their 5th full-length album ‘ARIRANG’. The ‘Best Group’ category holds a special legacy for the septet, who previously swept the trophy four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022, setting an all-time record for the category. On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, BTS maintains massive appeal. Their latest ‘Weekly Top Albums Global’ (September 11โ17) secured the No. 2 spot for the fifth consecutive week, while the title track ‘SWIM’ and B-side ‘NORMAL’ landed at No. 14 and No. 88 on the ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ chart, respectively.
Returning to Major U.S. Stages After 6 Years
Following their chart dominance, BTS is set to bring their explosive energy to a massive U.S. venue. On September 18, the group will take the stage at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This marks their first appearance at the iHeartRadio Festival in approximately six years since 2020.
