Traffic Stop Leads to Riverside Police Impersonation Investigation
Riverside police impersonation is suspected after law enforcement officers pulled over a black Ford Explorer SUV equipped with unauthorized emergency lights and sirens. The traffic stop occurred at around 2:00 AM on September 16 near Magnolia Avenue and McKinley Street, according to the Riverside Police Department. The driver was identified as 29-year-old Corona resident Brian Rodriguez Villarreal.
Illegal Firearms Seized During Probation Search
Following information gathered during the traffic stop, authorities conducted a probation search at Villarreal’s residence in Corona with assistance from the Riverside Police Department’s Post Release Accountability and Compliance Team. Investigators seized four assault rifles, five handguns, over 2,000 rounds of ammunition, and high-capacity magazines. Investigators also arrested Villarreal’s 30-year-old brother, Alejandro Padilla Villarreal, for allegedly aiding the criminal activity.
Ongoing Investigation Into Suspected Impersonation Crimes
Police confirmed that both brothers were on active probation at the time of their arrest. They were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on multiple charges alongside probation violations. Law enforcement is currently investigating whether the modified Ford Explorer was used to impersonate law officers or commit other crimes along the Magnolia Corridor in Riverside, though specific details on potential victims have not yet been released.
