Emory and Georgia Tech Soar in National Rankings
Georgia college rankings have reached new heights as both Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology secured top positions in the latest US News & World Report ‘Best Colleges’ rankings. Emory University climbed to a tie for 23rd place alongside Georgetown University, while Georgia Tech advanced to a tie for 29th place nationally with UC San Diego.
Emory also excelled in value and academics, ranking 19th for best value and undergraduate teaching. The university introduced the ‘Emory Advantage Plus’ program to support families earning $200,000 or less annually, reinforcing its commitment to accessible education. Furthermore, Emory’s nursing program secured the #1 spot, and its business programs ranked 15th. Forbes also named Emory a ‘New Ivy,’ and Times Higher Education placed it 26th globally for 2026.
Georgia Tech Dominates Engineering and Public University Lists
Georgia Tech strengthened its reputation by jumping to 6th place among public universities nationwide. The institution made massive strides in the ‘Best Value’ category, surging 69 spots to rank 39th overall, and 5th for in-state students. Undergraduates benefit immensely from its #3 ranking for ‘Most Innovative Schools’ and top-tier internship programs.
Georgia Tech’s undergraduate engineering program climbed to a tie for 2nd place, competing directly with Stanford and UC Berkeley. Notably, its civil engineering, environmental engineering, and industrial and systems engineering programs all claimed the #1 spot in the country.
University of Georgia Maintains Strong National Presence
The University of Georgia (UGA) also performed strongly, ranking 52nd nationally and 19th among public universities, marking its 11th consecutive year in the top 20 public schools. UGA’s Terry College of Business shone with insurance programs ranking 2nd, real estate at 5th, and accounting climbing to 24th nationally.
