The Assassins has officially cemented its status as a massive box office hit in South Korea while simultaneously securing prestigious invitations from major film festivals worldwide. Following its runner-up placement for the International People’s Choice Award at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, where all public screenings completely sold out, the political thriller is expanding its global footprint.
International Film Festival Circuit and Star-Studded Cast
The film has been officially invited to the 28th Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, the 37th Singapore International Film Festival, the 21st Paris Korean Film Festival, and the 46th Hawaii International Film Festival. Featuring a dense and gripping acting ensemble including Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho, under the meticulous direction of filmmaker Hur Jin-ho, the movie explores the dark conspiracies and masterminds behind the August 15, 1974, First Lady assassination attempt that shook South Korea.
