OSEN DB.Billly Tsuki’s Journey to South Korea at Age 13
Billly Tsuki recently shared her remarkable journey of moving to South Korea alone at the young age of 13 to pursue her dream of becoming a K-pop idol. On the September 25 episode of Yano Shiho’s YouTube channel titled ‘Kansai Sister Tsuki Meets in Tokyo’, the two stars enjoyed a meal in Tokyo’s Monjayaki street and shared candid stories.
During the conversation, Tsuki revealed that she balanced working as an exclusive magazine model in Japan while simultaneously living a trainee lifestyle in South Korea.
Overcoming Cultural Barriers and Returning to Japan
When asked when she first dreamed of becoming a K-pop star, Tsuki surprised Yano Shiho by answering, ‘I went to South Korea alone at 13 to become a trainee, and I wasn’t scared at all.’ However, living abroad at such a young age proved difficult. After spending about two years as a trainee in South Korea, Tsuki faced struggles due to cultural differences around the age of 15, ultimately deciding to return to Japan to enroll in high school.
Funding Auditions with Part-Time Job Earnings
Refusing to give up her dream, Tsuki took on a part-time job in Japan. She used her monthly earnings to fund another trip to South Korea to pursue auditions, passing immediately upon applying. ‘I have never failed. I never even thought about failing,’ she recalled, showing her unique confidence at the time. She added that rather than possessing exceptional looks or skills, industry officials told her that her ‘eyes were sparkling,’ attributing her success to her desperate determination and self-belief.
Yano Shiho expressed admiration for Tsuki’s striking energy, mentioning she would love for her daughter Choo Sarang to meet Tsuki and learn from her passion.
