All Day Project, the mixed-gender idol group featuring Annie (Moon Seo-yoon), the daughter of Shinsegae Group Chairwoman Jung Yoo-kyung, is having its new music video screened on the exterior LED facade of Shinsegae Department Store’s main branch in Myeong-dong, Seoul, starting September 28.
All Day Project Drops Second Mini Album CRASH
All Day Project released its second mini-album, CRASH, at 6 p.m. on the same day. The music video for CRASH is scheduled to be broadcast four times throughout the evening on the massive Shinsegae Square media facade. This marks the first time an All Day Project music video has been featured on the Shinsegae Square screen.
Shinsegae Square as a K-Pop Landmark in South Korea
Shinsegae Department Store launched Shinsegae Square in November 2024, aiming to establish a new landmark in South Korea’s capital. Originally built with an expansive area of 1,292.3 square meters—roughly the size of three basketball courts—the display was further expanded to 1,353.6 square meters last year. The ultra-large screen has previously showcased luxury brands and music videos from top K-pop acts. In March, BTS premiered their new music video for SWIM via Shinsegae Square, following appearances by G-Dragon, BoyNextDoor, and TWS.
Annie’s Journey to K-Pop Stardom
While Shinsegae has previously issued official press releases for music video screenings of other K-pop artists, it was reported that no separate press materials were distributed for this All Day Project release. Annie, active as a member of All Day Project, previously opened up about overcoming family opposition to pursue her singing career in a documentary video released last June.
She shared, “One day, feeling completely drawn to it, I asked my mom [Chairwoman Jung Yoo-kyung], ‘Mom, how do you think I’d do as a singer?’ She just laughed and said, ‘No way,’ so I thought, ‘Ah, I guess it’s not happening.’ Two or three years later, I brought it up seriously and said, ‘Mom, I honestly really want to be a singer,’ but she replied, ‘Does that make any sense? Absolutely no.’”
She added, “The opposition from my family peaked around my second or third year of high school. When I told them I still couldn’t give it up, my mom said she would help persuade the rest of the family if I got accepted into university.”
Following this agreement, Annie enrolled at Columbia University in the United States and reportedly recently graduated while continuing her music career.
