A large-scale Echo Park low-income housing apartment complex is being promoted near Echo Park.
According to Urbanize LA on the 1st, developer Samuelian Group recently submitted a development application to the LA City Planning Department to build a 6-story mixed-use apartment complex named ‘Flats on Sunset’ at a parking lot site (1150 Sunset Blvd) in Echo Park.
According to the developer, the apartments consist of 1 to 3 bedrooms, and a total of 237 units will be built upon completion. Approximately 1,000 square feet of commercial space will be provided on the first floor. The parking lot is planned to accommodate a total of 147 vehicles.
In particular, all residential facilities are scheduled to be supplied as low-income housing for residents who meet income requirements. When the project financing plan was released earlier this year, the target tenants were proposed as households earning 30% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Various convenience facilities for residents will also be included. According to project materials released by the company, a rooftop deck, children’s play area, laundry facilities, fitness center, and various common spaces are planned to be provided.
Meanwhile, the Samuelian Group is recently expanding its low-income housing business in the LA area.
The company recently commenced construction on a low-income housing complex on Hyperion Avenue in Silver Lake and is also pursuing a new housing development project on Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills.
