The K-Pop Dance Academy in LA is coming to Los Angeles, offering K-pop fans a unique opportunity to learn directly from professional idol stars.
The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA), in collaboration with the King Sejong Institute, will host the ‘2026 K-Pop Academy in LA’ from the 14th to the 16th.
Gabee, a former member of the K-pop girl group After School and a dance trainer for the idol audition program ‘Produce 101’, will serve as the instructor for this academy.
Participants will learn practical performance skills ranging from the basics of K-pop choreography and music interpretation to rhythm control and stage expression.
The workshops will be held at the Korean Education Center in LA on October 14-15 from 3 PM to 8 PM, divided into beginner and advanced courses. The beginner course operates on a first-come, first-served basis, while applicants for the advanced course must submit a dance video for evaluation. King Sejong Institute Korean language students will be given priority.
Applicants must be born on or before December 31, 2012 (14 years and older) and must be able to attend the entire schedule from the 14th to the 16th. A showcase will be held at the Korean Cultural Center LA on the final day, October 16, where participants will showcase the K-pop performances they practiced over the two days in front of an audience.
KCCLA Director Lee Hae-don stated, “This will be a special opportunity to directly learn the know-how of professional artists and complete a stage together.”
Participation is free, and advance registration is required by the 9th. Selection results will be notified individually via email. Application methods and detailed schedules can be found on the Korean Cultural Center LA website (kccla.org) and its official social media channels.
