Singer and actor Hwang Minhyun is returning to the music scene with fresh new tracks after approximately eight months.
Hwang Minhyun’s new digital single ‘OUR’ will be released today at 6 PM across various online music sites. Marking his first new release since ‘Truth’ in February, this album reflects on the time that shaped him and captures the story of ‘us’ discovered within the traces of those who stayed by his side.
The title track ‘OUR’ is a medium-tempo pop song highlighted by a minimalist guitar-driven composition. The lyrics deliver a warm message that even as seasons change and familiar daily routines pass by, feelings toward one another remain unchanged.
Through his agency Pledis Entertainment, Hwang Minhyun introduced the song by saying, “If you look closely at the lyrics, it tells a warm emotional story that ‘even if many things change, our relationship will remain unchanged and stay the same.'”
He further shared a key point for appreciating ‘OUR’ more deeply, noting, “Although it features a sophisticated beat, if you listen while focusing on the lyrics, it will approach you with a completely different feeling.”
Above all, this comeback is especially meaningful as he gets to meet fans through music activities after a long time. Hwang Minhyun expressed his affection for fans, saying, “I am happy and excited to be able to meet Hwangdo (fandom name) through music activities after such a long time.”
He added a sincere message that heightened fans’ expectations, stating, “From music broadcasts to fan meetings, I will work hard to make this a precious memory like a gift to Hwangdo. Thank you and I love you.”
The teaser for the ‘OUR’ music video, released via official SNS channels on the 6th, also stimulated curiosity about the new song. Along with a short snippet of the music, Hwang Minhyun’s sensational visuals and performance blended together, while vibrant lights and graphics moving to the rhythm and diverse colors shimmering across his face completed a dreamy atmosphere.
In particular, the sound of ‘OUR’ that first unveiled its veil alongside short choreography in the teaser left a strong impression. Hwang Minhyun’s sweet vocals flowed over a dreamy yet sophisticated beat, and the lyric “I can feel you” appearing near the end of the video added lingering resonance, raising expectations for the full song.
This digital single ‘OUR’ includes a total of three tracks, including the title track ‘OUR’, ‘Know You Better’, and ‘Hotline’. Hwang Minhyun plans to showcase a different vocal color from his previous works through diverse music spanning pop and R&B.
