Two Korean women were arrested on prostitution-related charges at a massage parlor in Bergen County, New Jersey. According to local media outlet Daily Voice, the Rochelle Park Police Department cracked down on Fuji Salon, located at 53 Woodland Avenue, on the 2nd and arrested two women.
The arrested individuals are 72-year-old Sumi Ray, a resident of Flushing, New York, and 55-year-old Mihwa Choi, originally from Suwon, South Korea. Police charged Ray with promoting prostitution and possession of criminal proceeds, while Choi was charged with loitering for the purpose of prostitution and possession of criminal proceeds.
This crackdown originated from resident tips indicating that prostitution was taking place at the establishment. Based on these tips, police conducted an undercover operation, arrested the two women, and seized approximately $2,000 in cash. Both women were released after being issued appearance tickets.
James DePreta, a lieutenant with the Rochelle Park Police Department, stated, “We will continue to investigate various illegal activities centered around quality-of-life issues raised by residents, and we will maintain our efforts to protect the safety and security of the community.”
