Group BLACKPINK Jennie made a surprise appearance on stage during pop star The Weeknd’s concert in South Korea.

Jennie appeared as a special guest during the second day of the ‘Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 The Weeknd’ held on the 8th at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province. Jennie joined The Weeknd to sing ‘One Of the Girls’.

Although the song was on the setlist for the first day’s concert, Jennie did not appear, which caused some disappointment among fans, but her appearance on the second day brought excitement.

On this day, Jennie took the stage wearing a bold purple swimsuit with a full-bang hairstyle. After the song ended, Jennie shared a warm hug with The Weeknd, and The Weeknd kept waving to Jennie as she headed backstage.

After finishing the song, Jennie said in Korean as she was leaving, “Have a fun concert, Joo-mal oppa (The Weeknd).” In South Korea, The Weeknd is affectionately called ‘Joo-mal oppa’ (meaning ‘Weekend oppa’), and Jennie showed her wit by using the nickname. Afterwards, Jennie was reportedly seen watching The Weeknd’s performance from the audience.

Jennie and The Weeknd share a deep connection. Jennie made her Hollywood acting debut through the 2023 HBO series ‘The Idol’, produced by The Weeknd.

In addition to acting, she collaborated with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp on ‘The Idol’ OST ‘One Of the Girls’. This song spent 20 weeks on the U.S. Billboard main single chart ‘Hot 100’.
