Actor Bae Hyun-sung recently opened up about his experiences working alongside seasoned actors Han Suk-kyu and Park Ji-hwan, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from his latest projects.
Reflecting on Park Ji-hwan’s Warmth
On the October 9 episode of Cho Jung-seok’s YouTube channel, titled “What Should I Do With You? Director Yeon Sang-ho and Actor Bae Hyun-sung Received Scripts from AI,” host Cho Jung-seok asked Bae about his chemistry with Park Ji-hwan. Cho mentioned that Park often shows affection in a rough manner to actors who share similar visual styles.
In response, Bae shared, “Park Ji-hwan sunbaenim was so great. At first, I was worried because he often plays intense and scary roles. However, when we first met, he called me ‘son’ and was extremely sweet and caring. We talked a lot on set while filming together.”
Learning from Han Suk-kyu
Bae also discussed his time working with veteran actor Han Suk-kyu in the drama “Shin Sajang Project.” He described Han as both a wonderful senior colleague and a true mentor.
“He is a great senior and a great adult. I learned so much while filming together, especially in terms of how he embraces others and guides those around him as an adult,” Bae remarked.
A Playful Confrontation
During the conversation, director Yeon Sang-ho jokingly pressed Bae by asking, “Then who was the absolute worst senior you’ve ever met? Let’s talk about the worst. Is there anyone you never want to see again?” Faced with this persistent question, Bae cleverly deflected by responding, “I think I’m about to meet one right now,” bringing laughter to everyone on set.
