[OSEN=Kim Na-yeon] Actor Lee Yi-kyung has signaled his return to the entertainment industry through the Busan International Film Festival, while also sharing his recent updates via social media after a long hiatus.

On the 10th, Lee posted several photos on his social media account with the caption, “31th BIFF. Generations Grudge.”

The released photos capture Lee Yi-kyung attending the 31st Busan International Film Festival. Following his appearance on the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 31st Busan International Film Festival on the 6th, Lee attended the open talk for the movie “Generations Grudge” (directed by Kim Sung-yoon) at the Roof Theater in the Busan Cinema Center, Haeundae-gu, on the 9th to communicate with the audience.

Amidst this, Lee shared his recent updates by posting behind-the-scenes photos from the film festival. The photos show Lee posing in front of a mirror dressed in a suit for the red carpet, along with selfies taken with director Kim Sung-yoon and actors Jung Jae-young, Kim Joo-ryung, and Kim A-young from “Generations Grudge,” drawing attention.

Previously, Lee Yi-kyung minimized communication with the public after a private life controversy broke out in October of last year. At the time, an individual claiming to be a German national named ‘A’ shared captured conversation contents including Lewd messages exchanged with Lee, along with a selfie of Lee. However, ‘A’ caused confusion by repeatedly deleting posts, changing stances to claim the photos were AI-generated, and altering statements again.

In response, Lee Yi-kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, refuted the claims as “false information” and filed a lawsuit against ‘A’. Lee himself posted directly on the 11th, stating, “A few days ago, I visited the Seoul Gangnam Police Station to undergo a complainant statement investigation. I delivered my standpoint regarding the rumors, and completed the legal procedures for filing a complaint regarding intimidation and defamation through the publication of false information.” He strongly warned of a strict response, adding, “As for the ending you are all curious about, the suspect will be identified soon after a warrant is issued. Even if they are in Germany, I will personally visit Germany to submit the complaint. There will be absolutely no leniency for malicious commenters either.”>

However, ‘A’ continued additional exposures thereafter, and in February of this year, stated, “I have submitted all relevant evidence I currently hold to the police, and also transmitted data regarding my identity to investigative authorities. Considering the situation where I cannot visit Korea directly, I am continuing cooperation with the assigned investigator in a non-face-to-face manner. I sincerely hope that the truth of this case will be clearly revealed, even if it takes time.”, sharing updates on cooperating with police investigations.

Amidst such confusion, Lee stepped down from the MBC variety show “Hangout with Yoo” and KBS2’s “The Return of Superman,” which he had previously announced joining. Following that, he focused on overseas activities including the Japanese drama “Dream Stage,” and domestic activities had been sparse aside from “I Am Solo.” After facing tax evasion suspicions last May, where he clarified that “there were absolutely no intentional omissions of income or tax evasion through fraudulent methods,” he recently joined the E-channel web variety show “Detectives’ Gossip 3” and stepped back onto the official stage through the Busan International Film Festival, embarking on a full-scale resumption of domestic activities.
