Group ILLIT has heated up comeback anticipation by revealing cold-themed concept photos for their upcoming album.
On the 12th, ILLIT released the ‘QUIET’ version concept photos for their 5th mini album ‘BREAK EVEN’ through their official social media channels. The images capture the realization that a relationship was merely a one-sided illusion, portraying a cold and detached mindset that creates a stark contrast with their previous ‘BURNING’ concept.
Dressed in pure white outfits, the members command attention with expressionless faces and chilly gazes, radiating a cool aura. The accompanying concept film also builds a subtle sense of tension. In particular, inner monologue subtitles such as “I keep smiling as if everything is fine” and “Today is totally annoying” overlap, maximizing the complex emotional shifts of pretending that nothing is wrong.
The title track of the new album, ‘Arrest You’ (literal translation), heralds another box office hit with its highly addictive beat. Pre-release challenges and the self-produced mobile rhythm game ‘Break Whistle’ are rapidly spreading through word of mouth. According to their agency Belift Lab, the game was enjoyed by over 40,000 players worldwide within just four days of its release, proving explosive interest in the new song.
Meanwhile, ILLIT will meet fans by holding their encore tour ‘ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥’ ENCORE in KOREA’ at the Inspire Arena in Incheon on the 17th and 18th. Afterward, they will officially release their 5th mini album ‘BREAK EVEN’ and the music video for the title track on the 26th at 6 PM.
