The Asian Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL) is hosting a free legal clinic and community resource event on Saturday, November 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Fullerton Free Church North Campus.
This event is designed to provide professional consultations and practical support for various legal issues faced by the community in their daily lives. AJSOCAL attorneys will directly participate to offer personalized 1-on-1 consultations by field.
Key consultation areas include housing rights, family law, citizenship, labor law, and medical benefits. Attendees can receive legal guidance on tenant rights, eviction issues, security deposit returns, divorce, child custody, domestic violence, elder abuse, workplace discrimination, and wrongful termination.
Support will also be provided for filling out U.S. citizenship application forms (N-400) and fee waiver applications (I-912), along with guidance on Medi-Cal and Covered California application procedures. Consultations for crisis preparedness, such as powers of attorney, caregiver authorization affidavits, and family emergency planning, are also available.
On-site events will include a ‘Family Safety Preparedness Workshop’ and a community resource fair. The workshop will guide attendees on prior preparations to protect family health and safety in emergencies, while local support agencies will introduce various welfare services and available resources.
Food distribution and Thanksgiving turkey voucher giveaways will also take place. Turkey vouchers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one per household, and will close when supplies run out. Attendees wishing to receive food are encouraged to bring a personal pushcart.
This event is sponsored by Orange County 4th District Supervisor Doug Chaffee’s office and the OC Social Services Agency, in collaboration with several community organizations.
While event admission is free, advance reservation is mandatory for 1-on-1 legal consultations with attorneys. Reservations can be made through the AJSOCAL helpline or the online application form.
