The Hongik University Southern California Alumni Association (President Kim Byung-rim) will host its 26th annual alumni art exhibition, titled ‘Constellation,’ from October 24 to November 7 at the LA EK Gallery.
The exhibition theme, ‘Constellation,’ embodies the meaning of alumni who have continued their artistic practices in their respective places gathering in one space to form a single constellation. It highlights the artistic exchanges through which artists with diverse life experiences connect via their artwork.
Last year’s exhibition, ‘Trace & Flow,’ explored the flow of time, memory, and life experiences into art. This year, the narrative continues by illuminating how different artistic worlds connect into a single constellation. A total of 23 alumni artists are participating in this year’s exhibition.
This year’s alumni exhibition holds additional significance as it coincides with the 80th anniversary of Hongik University’s founding. It serves as a venue to look back on the history of the alma mater while examining the relationships and exchanges among alumni through the works of artists spanning different generations and experiences.
The opening reception will be held on October 24 from 2 PM to 5 PM. Exhibition viewing hours are Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 5 PM, and Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM.
Address: EK Gallery, 1125 Crenshaw Blvd, LA
