Singer-songwriter IU recently revealed the behind-the-scenes story of how she successfully cast veteran actresses Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee for her music video.
On the 14th, a video titled ‘IU came to Kim Young-ok’s house… and even Na Moon-hee?! The three women’s dinner and IU’s final letter’ was uploaded to Kim Young-ok’s official YouTube channel.
During the episode, the production team asked, “We are curious about why you decided to feature the two of them in the video.”
IU explained, “The two of you appeared on ‘You Quiz on the Block’ together a while ago. I watched that broadcast. I have a very close older sister, actress Yoo In-na, and we live almost together.”
She continued, “When we watched the ‘You Quiz’ episode together, the two of you naturally became our role models. From a junior’s perspective, you set such a wonderful example and truly became our role models.”
Kim Young-ok shared her thoughts, saying, “I wondered what it meant when she invited us to be in IU’s music video. I was so surprised that she expressed her friendship in that way.”
IU also mentioned that she received a lot of positive feedback, adding, “Didn’t the two of you look so lovely in it?” In response, Na Moon-hee brought laughter by saying, “Unni (Kim Young-ok) appears everywhere, but I hadn’t been active much lately. After doing that, I became a star.”
Meanwhile, Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee drew massive attention after starring as the main leads in the music video for the digital single ‘Dear My Crazy Soulmate,’ which was released on September 10th.
