The K-Food industry is expanding its global footprint as the Korea Food Industry Association hosts a special gastronomic event titled ‘The Korean Pantry’ in collaboration with global culinary evaluation agency La Liste on October 20 (local time) at the Hotel Alfred Sommier in Paris, France.

Expanding K-Food into Global Culinary Markets

This event was organized in connection with the association’s participation in ‘SIAL Paris 2026’ to translate actual K-Food products into real-world culinary applications and business opportunities within the local European market.

Running from October 17 to 21, the association is operating a massive ‘K-Food Leading Companies Pavilion’ featuring 11 domestic food companies across approximately 87 booths at SIAL Paris 2026. For this exclusive gastronomic event, about 60 local chefs and food ingredient buyers have been invited.

Innovative Menu Reinterpretations by Major Korean Brands

Six prominent South Korean food companies—Daedoo Foods, Samyang Foods, Sempio Foods, Ourhome, Youngpoong, and Pulmuone—are participating to showcase menus that reinterpret their signature products using French culinary techniques.

Featured signature dishes include a Kimchi Gazpacho utilizing Sempio Foods’ ‘Yondu’ and Pulmuone’s ‘Kimchi’; noodle dishes combining Ourhome’s ‘Haenam Gim Pesto’, Sempio Foods’ ‘Perilla Oil’, and Pulmuone’s ‘Tofu Noodles’; and a Salad Tart incorporating Samyang Foods’ ‘Buldak Sauce’ and Pulmuone’s ‘Tofu Tender’.

Additional creations include a Beurre Noisette roasted dish featuring Youngpoong’s ‘Matdamun Tteokbokki-tteok’ and Sempio Foods’ ‘Ssam Tojang’, alongside choux pastry desserts crafted with Daedoo Foods’ candied chestnuts, sweet red bean paste, and pure white rice flour mix.

Targeting Industry Professionals and Global Chefs

The invited guests include owners and chefs from La Liste-ranked restaurants, Asian food import and distribution companies, high-end food hall buyers, culinary and hotel school officials, and gastronomy-focused journalists.

Park Jin-sun, Chairman of the Korea Food Industry Association, stated, ‘Beyond simply introducing Korean food, it is crucial to establish Korean ingredients as everyday choices for chefs around the world. We will continue to expand export opportunities and European market entry foundations for domestic food companies.’
