[OSEN=Jang Woo-young] Talented rookie group OVUS is signaling the opening of a boundless all-rounder presence.
According to Ovemusiq Entertainment on the 4th, OVUS has officially confirmed its official debut for January 2027, following the release of a music film teasing calendar on the 1st and the full tracklist for their 1st regular album on the 2nd.
OVUS’s debut strategy clearly differs from the conventional formula of rookie K-POP groups. Unlike standard practices of taking the first step with a single or mini-album, they are making a bold move with a full-length album containing 10 tracks right from the start.
Executive Producer Ciello (real name Kim Ji-hyun) expressed musical confidence, stating, “We have such high confidence in the quality that all 10 tracks can be considered title songs.” Rather than relying on one or two hit songs, the group is determined to compete head-on with the overall musicality of the album and the individual skills of each member.
The highlight of this project is that the 10 songs and 10 music films are connected into a single cinematic narrative, creating an original configuration where independently told stories unite into one cohesive masterpiece.
Director Shin Hee-won, known for helming famous music videos such as NewJeans’ ‘Attention’ and ‘Super Shy’, SHINee’s ‘View’, and Red Velvet’s ‘Automatic’, participated in the direction. Anticipation is building over what new world Director Shin, recognized for sensible visual beauty and delicate emotional expression, will unfold by combining music and cinematic storytelling.
The group name ‘OVUS’ originates from ‘OF US’ and ‘OVER US’. Under the slogan ‘One Voice, Unified Sound’, it carries the meaning of four individuals who ran toward their dreams from different times and spaces meeting to create a single voice and sound. Based on the philosophy of “starting from us and going beyond us,” the group aims to respect each other’s individuality while connecting through music and ultimately creating a new ‘US’ together with the public.
OVUS is a four-member group consisting of KD, Hae Seong, Lynn, and Jeon Seo. All members possess main vocal-level singing abilities and solid performance skills, alongside a broad musical competency spanning songwriting, composition, and instrument playing, positioning them as all-rounder artists. Combined with four distinct visual styles and unique charms, they are drawing high expectations as a next-generation global group equipped with both musicality and stardom.
