On a recent broadcast of JTBC’s BLACKPINK Jisoo made headlines by showing off her extraordinary spicy food tolerance during a 15-minute cooking battle utilizing ingredients from her refrigerator.

During the episode, Jisoo introduced her aunt’s homemade cheongyang pepper chili paste, explaining, “I love spicy food, so I made this chili paste myself using peppers I grew. I didn’t think it was spicy at all, but others found it very hot.”

Remarkably, her fridge also contained notoriously spicy Silbi kimchi. Jisoo surprised everyone by declaring, “It’s not spicy at all,” and adding that she always orders tteokbokki at the highest spice level available.

Jisoo shared, “Whenever I eat spicy food, I’ve never had stomach issues or felt any regret the next day. Not even once.” Panelist Park Eun-young chimed in with agreement, causing laughter by saying, “Pretty girls are good at eating spicy food. I only eat spicy things myself.”

When the MCs asked if she had tried the famous ultra-spicy ‘Dijinda Tonkatsu’, Jisoo replied, “I went and tried it once by myself. They told me I needed to go buy milk nearby before eating. It was slightly spicy, but because the spice had a sweet undertone, it was totally fine.”

Jisoo also mentioned that she previously appeared on a famous overseas YouTube show known for testing extremely spicy sauces. Reflecting on the challenge, she noted, “There were wings ranked from level 1 to 10. When I ate the level 8 wing, it suddenly hit me with intense heat. It was a sharp, burning kind of spice.”

Kim Sung-joo then asked, “Can’t Jennie handle spicy food?” Jisoo revealed that the rest of the BLACKPINK members cannot handle spice at all, recalling, “They are at a baby level. I actually called them fetas. When we talked about eating buldak ramen, they would only add three drops of sauce. Even after mixing it, the noodles were still pale white, and they cried that it was too spicy after eating just that.”

In contrast, Jisoo revealed that she carries buldak sauce separately and adds even more to her noodles when cooking. Ateez member San expressed his awe, saying, “I love spicy food, but I really felt my limits there. I never even thought about adding extra sauce.”
