
The BIFF Busan International Film Festival has grandly opened its 31st edition, bringing together top domestic and international stars.
On the evening of October 6, the opening ceremony red carpet event for the 31st Busan International Film Festival took place at the Cinema Center in Woo-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan.
Celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, the festival runs for ten days until October 15. A total of 316 films from 59 countries will meet audiences during the event.
As expected from an opening ceremony, Korea’s representative actors turned out in force. Notably, the team from ‘Made in Korea,’ featuring Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, and Woo Do-hwan, drew massive attention as they walked the red carpet together in sleek tuxedos.
The cast of the film ‘Hope’ also visited Busan. Actor Jo In-sung and his fellow cast members stepped onto the red carpet to receive enthusiastic cheers from fans.
The main cast of the film ‘Possible Love,’ which has gained prior attention at international film festivals, also gathered in one place. Director Lee Chang-dong, along with Jeon Do-yeon, Jo Yeo-jeong, and Sol Kyung-gu, made their appearance, generating great interest.
Park Ji-hyun, who recently became the first Korean actress to be nominated for an International Emmy Award, also graced the event. She radiated elegance in a striking red dress, showcasing her nomination for best actress with the Netflix series ‘Eun-jung and Sang-yeon.’
Greater China star Fan Bingbing also visited Korea, capturing the attention of festival-goers with her distinct red-accented outfit and glamorous styling.
With global and local film stars gathered in one place, the Cinema Center was filled with fiery enthusiasm right from the start, marking a splendid beginning for the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
