How the BIGBANG Concert Pioneered Eco-Friendly K-Pop Culture

The recent BIGBANG concert held in South Korea has set a remarkable new benchmark for eco-friendly and inclusive K-Pop tour production. YG Entertainment introduced groundbreaking sustainability initiatives during the ‘BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS > IN GOYANG’ from August 21 to 23, proving that large-scale music events can successfully minimize their environmental footprint.

Renewable Energy Innovation at the Venue

To reduce carbon emissions, YG Entertainment deployed a mobile solar-powered lounge at the concert grounds in South Korea. The integrated solar panels generated 16.534 kWh of electricity, powering approximately 83% of the booth’s operations. Interactive fan experiences, such as energy-generating bicycle races, further engaged attendees in sustainable practices and highlighted the future of green concert management.

Expanding Accessibility and Barrier-Free Infrastructure

Beyond environmental efforts, the BIGBANG concert prioritized universal accessibility as part of the ongoing ‘Universal Stage Project’ in collaboration with Warm Donghang. Enhancements included clearly marked wheelchair seating numbers, intuitive pictograms in accessible restrooms, assistive rental devices, tactile and braille-inclusive leaflets for visually impaired fans, and dedicated support staff to elevate the overall concert experience.
