After closing its doors in late July, the popular Italian fusion restaurant in LA’s Koreatown has returned with a fresh identity as Concerto Reserve. The soft opening on the 29th marked the transition from a 15-year-old restaurant to a premium cafe focused on high-quality coffee, desserts, and ceremonial-grade matcha.
Premium Coffee and Matcha Focus
The core of Concerto Reserve lies in three pillars: premium coffee beans sourced from South America and Hawaii and roasted in-house, a curated line of premium desserts, and high-quality matcha. The matcha is supplied by Han Sung-min, who has operated a matcha farm in Yamanashi, Japan, for 25 years. The owner noted that while the cafe was initially conceptualized around coffee, the opportunity to offer world-class matcha made it a natural addition, especially given its health benefits.
Customer-First Service and Legacy Menu
Concerto Reserve emphasizes customer convenience by eliminating tips, service charges, and valet fees, while providing free parking for visitors. The establishment aims to treat every guest like a VIP, inspired by traditional tea ceremony culture. For long-time fans, the restaurant continues to offer select Italian staples like pasta, pizza, and salads, available exclusively for take-out during lunch hours to honor the requests of loyal patrons. Looking ahead, the owner plans to expand the brand with future locations, continuing the legacy of the original Concerto in a new, modernized form.
