[OSEN=Choi Lee-jung] D’FESTA THE ORIGIN brings together 48 top-tier K-pop stars—from G-Dragon and BTS to Stray Kids and Cortis—for an unprecedented art exhibition.
The large-scale exhibition ‘D’FESTA THE ORIGIN’ will be held from the 23rd until November 30th at the MPX Gallery on the L3 floor of IFC Mall in汝矣島 (Yeouido), Seoul.
‘D’FESTA THE ORIGIN’ is a massive project featuring a total of 48 artists across 9 leading K-pop teams, including G-Dragon, BTS, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together (TXT), aespa, ENHYPEN, IVE, RIIZE, and Cortis. Over a period of about 4 months, 30 large-scale filming sets were constructed to capture new and unique sides of the artists.
Under the theme of ‘ORIGIN’—the initial dreams and passion harbored by K-pop artists—this exhibition transcends music and performance, interpreting their journey through various artistic formats such as photography, video, fashion, and fine art.
The exhibition welcomes visitors with a diverse array of sections. ‘THE NINEFOLD’ captures the individuality of the 9 teams through 18 distinct stories, while ‘HUES OF BLACK’ features massive 8-meter-wide by 4-meter-tall black-and-white portraits that focus on the unique atmosphere and deep gazes of the artists.
The highlight of the exhibition is ‘KANON NO. 48’, a large-scale collective artwork completed by all 48 artists. As the artists walk atop a massive structure, they visually document contemporary K-pop, delivering an overwhelming spectacle where different rhythms and movements blend into one.
In addition, visitors can enjoy ‘THE SQUEEZE’, which showcases artwork drawn by the members themselves, and ‘LETTERS’, featuring heartfelt handwritten notes and video messages addressed to fans. Interactive programs like ‘THE ENCOUNTER’, where visitors can listen to artists’ voices and take commemorative photos, along with an ‘Admission Kit’ containing photo tickets, further heighten anticipation.
The organizers of ‘D’FESTA’ shared their expectations, stating, "’THE ORIGIN’ is a project crafted over a long period to present the most brilliant moments of K-pop in an artistic format. In particular, ‘KANON NO. 48’ will stand as a valuable scene that records K-pop on an overwhelming scale."
Meanwhile, ‘D’FESTA THE ORIGIN’ kicks off its Seoul exhibition before expanding into a global tour starting with Tokyo and other major cities around the world next January.
