Everland’s beloved Everland twin pandas, Rui Bao and Hui Bao, are officially scheduled to depart for China in the third week of December. Following the departure of their older sister, Fu Bao, this marks the second relocation of pandas from the Korean theme park.
Relocation Schedule and International Agreements
Everland announced on the 30th that the timeline for the twins, who were born in July 2023 and have been living in the Panda Second House, has been finalized. According to international agreements, giant pandas born abroad must return to China before reaching breeding age, typically around four years old.
Ensuring a Safe Journey
Their older sister, Fu Bao, was born at Everland on July 20, 2020, and was moved to the Shenshuping Panda Base in Sichuan, China, on April 3, 2024, shortly before her fourth birthday. Everland has been working closely with the China Wildlife Conservation Association and the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda to ensure the twins are relocated at the optimal time. The exact travel date and final logistics will depend on the pandas’ health, local weather conditions, and other relevant factors.
Farewell Programs for Fans
To mark this transition, Everland plans to prepare for the safe transportation of the twins while hosting special farewell programs to help fans remember and support Rui Bao and Hui Bao. The park expressed its gratitude to the public, asking for continued interest and warm support for the pandas’ happy future.
