Exclusive Contract with Management Koo Signals a New Chapter
Kim Ga-ram, a former member of the K-pop girl group Le Sserafim, is officially transitioning into acting after signing an exclusive management contract with Management Koo. The agency announced the partnership on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, marking Kim’s formal return to the entertainment industry following a prolonged hiatus. According to the agency’s statement, talent scouts had been closely monitoring Kim’s independent digital presence before extending the offer. “We were deeply impressed by both her potential as an actor and her strong work ethic,” Management Koo explained, emphasizing her daily dedication to her new career goals as the primary driver behind the contract.
Preparation for a Multifaceted Career
To prepare for her upcoming screen debut, Kim has reportedly embedded herself in a rigorous training regimen. Management Koo shared that she has made rapid progress in her professional acting lessons while simultaneously expanding her skill set for international markets. Her current training curriculum includes intensive language studies in both English and Japanese, alongside self-taught acoustic guitar lessons. The agency praised her proactive approach to self-improvement, promising comprehensive resource allocation to support her upcoming film, television, and global streaming projects.
From K-pop Debut to Digital Comeback
Kim initially entered the public eye on May 2, 2022, as part of the original lineup for HYBE and Source Music’s flagship girl group Le Sserafim. However, her music career was abruptly halted when she went on an official hiatus on May 20—just 18 days after her debut—following a wave of middle school bullying allegations that surfaced online. She permanently parted ways with the group and the label in July of that year.
After maintaining a strict low profile for nearly four years, Kim re-emerged this past March by launching her personal YouTube channel, garamonly. The channel’s steady traffic and content strategy served as the modern launching pad for her re-entry into media, shifting her public identity from a former pop idol to an aspiring actress.
