Free Pink’s? Celebrate National Hot Dog Day LA Style!

Relish the Moment: How to Score a Free Pink’s Chili Dog for National Hot Dog Day LA

If you live in Los Angeles, you already know that Pink’s Hot Dogs on La Brea Avenue is practically a holy site for food lovers. But this week, the iconic Hollywood landmark is giving you a reason to line up that has nothing to do with celebrity sightings and everything to do with free food. To celebrate National Hot Dog Day LA foodies can head over to Pink’s on July 15 for a massive “Chili Dogs for Charity” bash that combines legendary eats with a great cause.

The Magic Number is 250: Free Food and Big Donations

Pink’s is leaning hard into America’s recent milestone birthday with a clever “250” theme. The first 250 customers in line on July 15 will walk away with a completely free legendary chili dog, loaded to the brim with mustard, onions, their famous chili, and shredded cheddar cheese.

But don’t worry if you’re the 251st person in line. Owner Richard Pink announced that the proceeds from the next 250 chili dogs sold (priced at $10.50) will be donated entirely to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

“National Hot Dog Day is a great day to be an American. And there is no food that is more American, or more relished, than the hot dog,” said Richard Pink, noting that the 250-dog theme is a direct salute to the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Go Big or Go Home: The $17.76 “America The Beautiful” Dog

If a standard chili dog isn’t enough to satisfy your monstrous appetite, Pink’s is keeping the patriotic party going through the end of July with a limited-time menu beast: The America The Beautiful Dog.

Priced at an appropriately historic $17.76, this culinary monument features a massive 12-inch jalapeño dog stretched out under a blanket of pastrami, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. Oh, and because Pink’s doesn’t do micro-portions, it comes flanked by a side of both french fries and onion rings.
