Fresno Home Invasion and Attempted Assault Details
A Fresno home invasion occurred on the morning of September 22, when a 36-year-old man unlawfully entered a residence and attempted to sexually assault an elderly woman. According to Fox 26 News, the incident took place at approximately 5:50 a.m. at a home in Fresno, California, involving a suspect identified by police as James Yang (36).
Grandson Chases Suspect and Calls 911
When the elderly victim began to scream, her grandson woke up from inside the house. Upon noticing the grandson, Yang immediately fled the scene. The grandson bravely pursued the suspect while dialing 911, providing real-time updates on Yang’s direction and location to emergency dispatchers. Responding officers quickly apprehended Yang at around 6:40 a.m. near Belmont Avenue and San Pablo Avenue.
Charges and Bail Set
Citing police arrest records, local outlet GV Wire reported that Yang faces multiple felony charges, including assault with intent to commit a sexual offense, first-degree residential burglary, and elder abuse, along with additional charges of sexual battery and trespassing. Yang’s bail has currently been set at $115,000.
