A Gaboon viper has reportedly been spotted in a residential area of Santa Ana, Orange County, prompting local police to issue an urgent safety warning to residents.
Dangerous Snake Reported in Santa Ana
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the snake was sighted near the intersection of Main Street and Edinger Avenue. Witnesses described the creature as being approximately 4 to 5 feet (1.2 to 1.5 meters) in length.
Authorities have stressed that the Gaboon viper is not native to North America and carries a highly potent venom. Police are urging citizens not to approach, touch, or attempt to capture the animal under any circumstances.
