Singer Sung Si-kyung and actress Moon Ga-young will be teaming up once again as MCs for the upcoming Golden Disc Awards.
On the 20th, the awards ceremony’s organizing and management company HLL announced that Sung Si-kyung and Moon Ga-young have been selected as the MCs for the ’41st Golden Disc Awards,’ which will take place over two days on January 9 and 10, 2027, at the outdoor special stage of the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC) in Hanoi, Vietnam.
With this announcement, the duo completes a 3-year consecutive MC partnership, following their hosting duties at the 39th and 40th editions. As Cha Eun-woo, who previously hosted alongside them, is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service, the upcoming 41st ceremony will continue with the streamlined and flexible 2-member MC system featuring Sung Si-kyung and Moon Ga-young, just as the 40th awards did.
Sung Si-kyung, often called the ‘symbol of the Golden Disc,’ is showcasing his unrivaled presence by taking the MC microphone for an impressive 11th consecutive year. Having first built a connection with the awards as a recipient of the Rookie Award and Main Prize, Sung has consistently anchored the ceremony with his signature soothing voice, deep understanding of music, and smooth, stable hosting skills. As he has been deeply connecting with music fans through his recent hosting of KBS 2TV’s ‘The Seasons – Sung Si-kyung’s Omakai Boyfriend,’ expectations are high for his weighty and sincere presentation.
Moon Ga-young’s active role as the ‘muse of the Golden Disc’ is also drawing attention. Earning passing marks from her very first hosting stint due to her clear diction and poised hosting abilities, Moon captivated global fans by genuinely enjoying K-pop performances. Having reached the pinnacle of her primary acting career last May by winning the Best Actress Award in the Film Category for the movie ‘If Only We’ at the ’62nd Baeksang Arts Awards,’ she is expected to radiate an even more flexible and brilliant aura on the awards stage.
Meanwhile, the ’41st Golden Disc Awards,’ which wraps up a year in South Korean popular music, will be held on a grand scale in Hanoi, Vietnam, meeting global music fans through collaborations with the travel platform Trip.com Group and Tamai Entertainment’s MAISEAT.
