Two women identified as ethnic Koreans have been arrested in Georgia on charges of operating an illicit prostitution ring and human trafficking.
According to local media outlet CNAW2 on the 25th, the arrested women are Suji Kim (77) and Byeong Kim (69), both residents of Columbus, who were taken into police custody on the 19th.
Muscogee County court records indicate that both individuals face misdemeanor charges for operating a prostitution business. Additionally, Suji Kim faces a felony charge of human trafficking for labor servitude, while Byeong Kim faces a felony charge of human trafficking for sexual servitude.
Although both women were arrested on the same day, specific details regarding the alleged crimes and victims have not yet been disclosed to the public.
The relationship between the two women and their direct connection to the establishment remain unconfirmed at this time.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies in Georgia have intensified crackdowns on businesses suspected of illicit sex trade activities. Last month, police raided seven massage establishments and arrested 14 individuals, including Korean nationals, on charges related to prostitution and pimping.
