Group ILLIT has transformed into stealthy black agents for their latest comeback.
On the 23rd, ILLIT released the music video teaser for their new title track ‘Arrested’ from their 5th mini album ‘BREAK EVEN’ via the official HYBE Labels YouTube channel.
Set in a secret operation base inside a Kongguksu (soybean noodle) restaurant, the black agent members create a palpable sense of tension with their serious expressions. In particular, a scene where Wonhee sharply throws a pair of chopsticks onto a whiteboard labeled ‘Fish-hooking Man’ amplifies curiosity about the unfolding storyline.
The title track ‘Arrested’ is an electro-pop song that delivers a warning to someone who provoked misunderstandings through habitual kindness. It captures a resolute attitude of cleanly cutting off relationships rather than getting swept away by past emotions, featuring cheerful whistle sounds and a fiercely addictive hook.
Response to the performance has already proven explosive. The stage video for ‘Arrested,’ which was pre-released during the ‘ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥’ ENCORE in KOREA’ held on the 17th-18th, surpassed 1 million views in about 21 hours. It subsequently claimed the No. 1 spot on YouTube’s ‘Daily Popular Music Video’ chart in South Korea on October 21 while also entering charts in Japan and Singapore, drawing rave reviews for the members’ fresh facial expressions and flawless synchronized choreography.
Enthusiasm among global fans is also escalating day by day. As of the 23rd, the 5th mini album ‘BREAK EVEN’ surpassed 500,000 pre-saves on Spotify, claiming the top spot on the ‘Pre-save Top 10’ chart and proving explosive anticipation.
Meanwhile, ILLIT will drop their second music video teaser on the 25th, followed by the official release of all songs and the music video for their new album on the 26th at 6 p.m.
