K-pop girl group ILLIT has returned with a brand new season of their hit reality show ‘SUPER ILLIT’ after a five-month hiatus, instantly capturing fans’ hearts with their surprisingly traditional culinary tastes.

On August 24, ILLIT released the first episode of the new season titled ‘Gukbap Ranking Sorted Out’ through their official YouTube channel. Known among Gen Z fans as a top-tier self-produced variety show, ‘SUPER ILLIT’ follows the members (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha) as they take on various challenges to become the best in every field.

In this episode, the members showcased an extraordinary love for ‘gukbap’ (Korean traditional soup with rice). Yunah introduced pork gukbap flown in straight from Busan, Minju shared her favorite sundae (blood sausage) gukbap from her trainee days, Wonhee presented seonji (ox blood) gukbap from a famous 60-year-old Seoul restaurant, and Japanese member Iroha surprised everyone with bean sprout gukbap. Iroha even showed off her variety show wits by joking, “I came to Korea just to eat bean sprout gukbap. I only learned Korean so I could read the menu.”

After a fierce competition, Wonhee claimed the final first-place title, celebrating with joyful jumps, while Yunah, who placed last, happily treated the entire production crew to ice cream as a penalty, wrapping up the entertaining ‘gukbap election.’
