In-N-Out Burger has firmly dismissed speculation regarding a potential exit from California. In-N-Out Burger CEO Lynsi Snyder stated in a recent interview with actor Terry Crews, “California is where we started, where we are today, and where we will always be.”
Addressing rumors about closing California stores, Snyder remarked that leaving the state would be “the most foolish business decision ever made.” She emphasized that even as the company expands into other states, California will remain its primary business foundation.
Founded in Baldwin Park in 1948, In-N-Out is celebrating its 78th anniversary this year. Snyder credited California customers as the driving force behind the brand’s growth from a small diner into a nationwide burger chain.
Expressing her gratitude, she noted, “It is thanks to them that we are able to continue our business and expand into new cities and states.”
In-N-Out is currently pursuing expansion into Tennessee. Snyder explained that this decision stemmed from a combination of business considerations and personal circumstances, noting that her husband suggested the family relocate to Tennessee, a decision finalized after much prayer.
Known for its foundational Christian values, In-N-Out historically prints biblical references on its burger packaging and beverage cups.
Looking ahead, Snyder identified Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico as potential regions for future expansion, though she did not disclose specific store opening schedules or plans.
Snyder emphasized a focus on maintaining quality and brand identity while carefully pacing business growth.
“I want to make sure everything is done right,” she said, adding that her goal is to uphold her grandparents’ legacy and preserve a family-oriented atmosphere.
In-N-Out plans to steadily open new stores in California while exploring further business expansion opportunities in other states.
