
French legendary actress Isabelle Huppert recently visited South Korea, sharing glimpses of her everyday life in Seoul alongside her special stage performances.
On the 10th, Isabelle Huppert posted on her personal Instagram with the caption "En Corée…" along with photos of herself gazing at Namsan Tower from a Seoul tour bus and the leaflet for the reading play ‘Bird’, adapted from a novel by author Han Kang.
In the published photos, Isabelle Huppert attracts attention by wearing sunglasses and enjoying a leisurely time while gazing out the window at Namsan Tower and the scenery of Seoul.
Meanwhile, Isabelle Huppert successfully completed the first Korean performance of the reading play ‘Bird’ (Oiseau) held at the Mary Hall Grand Theater of Sogang University in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 10th. Adapted from the first chapter ‘Bird’ of author Han Kang’s novel ‘We Do Not Part’, which deals with the Jeju April 3rd Incident, this work was previously premiered at the Avignon Festival in France last July and met domestic audiences as an invited work of the Seoul International Performing Arts Festival (SPAF).
In this stage, Isabelle Huppert played the role of ‘Gyeongha’ and actress Lee Hye-young played the role of ‘Inseon’, matching their breath by exchanging lines in French and Korean respectively.
