Jennie Makes K-Pop History on Billboard
Jennie Dracula has officially made K-Pop history as the former BLACKPINK star spends her 16th consecutive week on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, surpassing BTS to set a brand new record for the longest-running top 10 hit by a K-Pop act.
Surpassing BTS and ROSร on the Charts
According to Billboard preview articles on September 14 (local time), the collaboration track ‘Dracula’ with Australian psychedelic pop band Tame Impala maintained its position at No. 6 on the Hot 100, securing its 16th week in the top 10. The previous record was held by BTS with their mega-hit ‘Butter’ at 15 weeks. This achievement also follows fellow BLACKPINK member ROSร, whose collaborative track ‘APT.’ with Bruno Mars reached 14 weeks on the chart.
The Viral Success of Dracula
Initially released as a solo track by Tame Impala last October, ‘Dracula’ experienced a massive chart resurgence after a remix featuring South Korea’s global icon Jennie was released in February, quickly gaining explosive popularity across short-form video platforms and peaking at No. 5 on the Hot 100.
